Thornbury Cricket Club enjoys a fantastic reputation for its youth section. We are attributed as a ‘Focus’ club by the English Cricket Board and are regarded as a centre of excellence for cricket in our local community.
Our club is represented in the 20 overs Bristol Youth League and regional cup competitions at all age group levels. We also play in the Gloucester youth league giving players an opportunity to experience longer matches. Each squad is managed by a dedicated qualified coach. Whilst operating to the latest and highest standards of child safety and protection, we aim to cultivate an atmosphere which develops skills, promotes teamwork and above all, is fun to participate in. Membership is open to all, regardless of ability.
Many of our youth members progress to represent the county or the district league. We also aim to progress at least 4 players each season into first and second team senior cricket at the club.
Winter coaching takes place for each age group at the indoor Castle school sports centre. These sessions are run by all our coaches and are well attended from early October through late March. This winter, every session is supported by either Damian Forder or Andy Stovold.

THORNBURY GIRLS CRICKET
Girls cricket has been very active within the general development of Thornbury Cricket Club over the past few years.
Girls have featured in youth and senior sides in the past and the club are very keen to provide the support required for any female members to pursue an increasingly popular sport.
To provide the widest opportunities for women and girls to develop their cricketing skills, the Club’s female section has joined forces with similar sections of the Shirehampton and Chipping Sodbury Cricket Clubs.
