The 2009 season proved to be a mixed one for the three senior Saturday sides.
The 1st XI entered their last game of the season knowing a win over Keynsham would seal them as Premier Two champions or a minimum of 7 points would secure promotion. Unfortunately the side could not produce either as they could only manage 6 points in a bitterly disappointing defeat and therefore were pipped to promotion by Taunton Deane via a higher wins percentage.
The 2nd XI, already relegated to Premier Two next season, produced one of the better performances of the season by beating Keynsham at home but their demise was, in the end, due to penalty points applied by WEPL for a disputed illegible player.
However unreserved congratulations go to the 3rd XI who, despite a defeat in the last game, still obtained promotion to the B&D 2nd XI Senior Division.
It is a fantastic achievement by all of those involved (including a large proportion of TCC youth team players) but special mention must go to captain Nick Hall who has, undoubtedly, the most difficult team managerial job within the club.
